Sessional Instructors, Winter, Spring, and Summer 2018 Session Courses, Faculty of Social Work

Position Description

The Faculty of Social Work invites applications for term certain Sessional Instructors in our Calgary, Central and Northern Alberta Region, and Southern Alberta Region during the Winter, Spring, and Summer 2018 sessions.

The faculty offers face-to-face, blended and online classes to students in our BSW and MSW programs. Our areas of study include, but are not limited to: field education (including field supervision), child welfare, international social work, mental health, community organizations, social policy, social justice, group practice, social work with Indigenous peoples, clinical practice and addictions.  

Position Requirements:

  • Completed MSW
  • Current registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers, or equivalent regulatory body
  • Expertise in the area of study
  • Demonstrated history of ongoing professional development in the area of study
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching at a post-secondary level using a variety of delivery methods

The Faculty of Social Work is committed to incorporating Indigenous perspectives into the subject matter of all courses, and instructors are expected to include a minimum of the equivalent of three hours of Indigenous content related to the theme of each course.

Interested applicants should electronically submit a cover letter expressing their interest referencing the location of choice, a current CV and three letters of reference that refer to knowledge of area of study and teaching effectiveness. Applications will be accepted until November 9, 2017.
