Associate Director, Field Education, Central and Northern Alberta Region, Faculty of Social Work

Position Description

The Faculty of Social Work invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Instructor and Associate Director, Field Education, in our Central and Northern Alberta Region. This position is located in Edmonton, Alberta with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2018.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work along with a minimum three years of post-MSW practice experience, including minimum one year of direct field support and education, and will be required to register with the Alberta College of Social Workers. A thorough understanding of undergraduate- and graduate- level field education, and current and national issues in field, is required. Knowledge of, and familiarity with field education is required and knowledge and familiarity of the field education community in the Central and Northern Alberta Region of the faculty will be considered an asset. Fifty percent of the workload load for this position is assigned to direct field support and development across the region; including collaboration with and mentorship of other faculty with assigned field support responsibilities, and the faculty’s field education team. Evidence of excellence in field teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels is required, along with curriculum development experience.
